Performance Tai Chi Workout for Athletes and Enthusiasts

Tai Chi-based practice can improve performance in any fitness activity or sport. Sports and activities as diverse as skiing, golf, cycling, and hockey demand centered movement, nuanced internal communication, and open, fearless engagement with the environment. Blended Tai Chi (Taiji) and Qigong (Chi Kung) is uniquely suited to heighten body awareness, alert yet relaxed focus, and balance and coordination.

Internal martial artists developed sophisticated Tai Chi and Qigong techniques. These cultivate and intelligently deploy our crucial vital energy capacities to increase speed, stamina and dynamic power, improve flow and flexibility, and condition the body against injury, especially when the body is pushed to extremes.

From a health standpoint, Tai Chi and Qigong exercises increase bone density, joint function, and tissue elasticity. They also relieve stress, boost the immune, respiratory and cardiovascular systems, and increase the body’s innate healing capacities.

Participants in this training will learn elements of a Performance Tai Chi Workout:

*Chi Warm-up & Cool-down

*Wu Short Form Tai Chi (selection of moves)
*Standing Qigong for Core Awareness & Power
*Mindful Floor Exercises
