The sweet delights and savoury joys of the Holiday Season will beckon very soon, inviting you to indulge once again in impossibly intoxicating delicacies dripping with calories. Enjoy those goodies as you choose, not as you crave this winter. In this workshop, you will learn many ways to say yes or no to those compelling treats – whether you’re with family and friends at home or on the town, or spending time alone.

 

 

There will be opportunities to work directly with your cravings in the group or individually if you like. A sumptuous menu of simple-to-learn self-help mindbody methods drawn from meridian energy techniques, Neuro-Linguistic-Prgraming (NLP), Council Group Support, and Mindful Eating Practice in an intensive 2.5 hour workshop format.

A sustainable meditation practice needs four key outcomes to launch well: developing relaxation, postural alignments, grounding, and some capacity to breath through the body. This intensive program will equip you with fundamentals of several important practices – sitting, standing (static & moving) and lying down - that emphasize these vital behaviours.

 

Of course you’ll learn much more over time, but it’s so important to get it right by building from the critical basics...starting this day.

Hello friends,

 

This pandemic is challenging. As one of my Qigong teacher has noted, most of us aren't fearing a sabre-tooth tiger attack as we collect brush for the dinner fire, but we are very vulnerable to debilitating anxiety from ongoing insidious threats like COVID-19. Practices that directly aid our psyches, nervous system, blood pressure and general resilience can help.

This month I'm offering a 6-week Qigong program for curious beginners and those with some experience, Tuesdays, 2-3 pm, from October 27 to December 1. Then, if there's interest, we can figure out how to keep some momentum through the Holiday Season!

 

The word “qi” (or “chi”) means “life force” ("prana" in yoga); Qigong is specifically designed to cultivate this energy, using it to heal and strengthen every system throughout the body

 

Qigong's gentle, rhythmic exercises mirror the movements and character of nature - flowing water, the fresh lightness of an easy breeze, and the deep support of the earth. Qigong is a unique wellness art that embeds us in the true life of the world, enhancing body awarenesss to ward off falls, relieving stress and anxiety, and increasing the body’s innate healing capacities.

 

This workout combines the potency of Qigong standing/moving/sitting/lying down exercise sets with special breathing methods, and body-based meditation. It's healthy and fun!
